No stranger to the Doylestown
Animal Medical Clinic, Dr. Bates had spent time here shadowing
Drs. Mantell and Sporer while still an undergraduate in college.
She graduated from Mississippi State University College of
Veterinary Medicine in 2000 after attending Bucks County
Community College and Florida Atlantic University for her
pre-veterinary studies.
After graduating veterinary school, Dr. Bates did an internship
in small animal medicine and surgery at Mississippi State
University from 2000-2001 to prepare her for a residency
in veterinary emergency and critical care. She practiced
in Kentucky then moved on to Texas where she began her family
and worked in both emergency and general practices for the
last seven years. Dr. Bates returned to her hometown of Bucks
County in May of this year and is ecstatic to have returned
to her old stompin’ grounds of DAMC.
Dr. Bates has a special interest in feline medicine and
emergency medicine and a special fondness for Siamese cats.
In her spare time, Dr. Bates runs after her two toddlers
and enjoys music, outdoor activities, and catching up with
her friends and family. Her furry children include two cats
and two dogs, all of which were rescued. Dr. Bates hopes
to one day live on a farm with her human children, furry
children, cows, horses, goats, and ducks.
